Abu Dhabi's MGX weighs multi-billion deal for data center operator DayOne, sources say

Abu Dhabi-backed artificial intelligence investor MGX has been exploring acquiring Singapore-based data centre operator DayOne in what would mark a major step in its global expansion into technology infrastructure.

MGX, already a backer of OpenAI and a co-founder of the Stargate buildout, would gain a ready-made Asian footprint by absorbing DayOne, the data center business spun out of Singapore's Bridge Data Centres. The deal would put Gulf sovereign capital directly into the physical layer of AI compute across Southeast Asia, where power and land constraints increasingly decide who can scale.
